1. WHO WE ARE

Church Crush (“we,” “our,” or “the app”) is a faith-based dating and community platform operated by CF Design Studio. Our platform is accessible at churchcrush.app. For questions about this policy, contact us at hello@churchcrush.app.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Information you provide directly:

• Email address and phone number (collected at sign-up)
• Name, age, gender, and biographical information
• Profile photos (uploaded voluntarily)
• Church affiliation
• Faith beliefs and preferences (church attendance, denomination, etc.)
• Your written testimony and optional prayer request
• Messages sent to other users
• Event and church submissions

Information collected automatically:

• Device type and browser (for PWA compatibility)
• Approximate location (city/metro area level only, used for matching)
• App usage data (swipes, matches, logins) — used only to operate the service
• Push notification tokens (if you opt in)

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use your information solely to operate Church Crush. Specifically:

• To create and display your profile to potential matches
• To match you with users of the opposite gender in your metro area
• To facilitate messaging between matched users
• To send transactional emails (match notifications, sign-in links)
• To send the email drip series and weekly digest (you may unsubscribe at any time)
• To send push notifications (only if you grant permission)
• To process event listing payments via Stripe
• To display church information and Google Reviews
• To administer the app and prevent abuse

4. WHAT WE DO NOT DO

• We do not sell your personal information to any third party. Ever.
• We do not show your profile to users of the same gender.
• We display profile photos, bios, and faith details to other members in Discover before a mutual match.
• Messaging and match features require a mutual like.
• We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
• We do not share your information with churches or event organizers.
• We do not use automated decision-making or profiling beyond basic age-proximity matching.

5. WHAT OTHERS CAN SEE

In Discover, other members can see your name, age, photos, bio, church, beliefs, and testimony. Messaging opens after a mutual match. You can remove your account at any time.

After matching: Your full profile becomes visible only to your matched user. Your prayer request is visible to your match — share only what you are comfortable with.

Church member counts: We display how many app members attend each church as a number only. No names, photos, or identifying information are shown in the church directory.

6. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

• Supabase (supabase.com) — database and authentication. Data stored in the US.
• Stripe (stripe.com) — payment processing for $10 event listings. We never store your card details.
• Maileroo (maileroo.com) — transactional and marketing email delivery.
• Google Places API (google.com) — church ratings and location data.
• Netlify (netlify.com) — web hosting and infrastructure.

7. DATA RETENTION

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all of your data is permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days.

8. YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to access, correct, delete your account, unsubscribe from marketing emails, and withdraw push notification consent. Contact hello@churchcrush.app.

9. CHILDREN AND AGE REQUIREMENTS

Church Crush is strictly for users aged 18 and older.

10. SAFETY

Users may use the “I Changed My Mind” feature to immediately unmatch. To report abuse, email hello@churchcrush.app.

11. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email.
